TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) is a hands-on workshop which introduces ESL materials and techniques. Learn the basic skills for effective use of your English language with native speakers of other languages who are eager to learn or perfect their English. Goals for the course are:

  • To discover ways to effectively share your knowledge of the English language with those who want to learn.
  • To learn how to accurately assess a person's level of English competency.
  • To be able to identify a person's needs, develop learning strategies, and identify resources to help them meet their goals.
  • To enable yourself to use the teaching of English as a Second Language as a tool in which you also learn more about the culture of your students.
  • To be prepared to use teaching ESL as a means of building relationships and opening new doors of opportunity through which you can share salvation and life in Christ with others.

This course is designed for those doing ESL as a supplemental ministry, not for full-time ministry.
