KIT 2008 (Kid's Intercultural Training)

We at CIT believe that children need to feel secure and better informed about their role as a third-culture kid. Often children have many questions about their future home, friends, etc., that go unspoken. KIT provides an atmosphere similar to that of a homeschool/one-room schoolhouse that enables children to explore and verbalize their concerns. Children ages 6-12 are all trained together, thereby providing the family with exciting continuity of ideas to explore together. There is a separate pre-school KIT for 3-5 year olds. *Please note that the age breakdown for class assignments are considered flexible in that registered children will ultimately be placed in the class appropriate to their skill and ability.

Each KIT course will include Bible study and Bible memory, culturally relevant books, videos, games, crafts from other lands, music, food, and plenty of discussion about what life will be like as a TCK.

Taught by veteran missionaries and mothers of TCKs, Kathy Schultz & Debbie Wagner, KIT accompanies CIT's Second Language Acquisition, Equipping for Cross-Cultural Life and Ministry, and the CIT Debrief & Reentry as enrollment allows (a minimum of 4 children is required to run the course).

KIT: Exploring Cultures accompanies Equipping for Cross-Cultural Life & Ministry. In KIT: Exploring Cultures, children will learn to enjoy different cultures in an exciting, hands-on environment.

KIT: The Sounds of Language accompanies Second Language Acquisition. Children will acquire skills needed to assist them in language learning. A field trip to a Chinese restaurant and two sessions with a native language helper are included in this fun, interactive course.

Please note: Costs reflect total child fees including all books, materials, and one field trip. In the event that an extra field trip is scheduled, parents will be notified in advance of the cost for such event and the resulting expenses will be added to their final invoice.
